Oreo, Android Auto, Notifications

Is anyone else using Android Auto on Oreo? I don't have a vehicle with a head unit with AA, I'm just using the phone to display the interface. The issue is when I exit AA and get our of the car, I get a bombardment of notification tones, not just from notifications that came in while driving but even for ones that were there before I entered AA.

Is anyone else seeing (rather, HEARING) this?

Android Auto now turns on do not disturb. So no notifications when driving. I had to stop using it. Works better using the Assistant anyway.

It's always used Do Not Disturb, but it's never bombarded me with a refresh of notifications when exiting driving mode. This started when I updated my phone to Oreo.

I'm on the 8.1 beta and I don't have this problem.
