Oreo coming out and we don't even have Nougat yet?

I'm thinking the security "patch" is all we will get as far as the "X pure" goes. We may or may not get 7.1, but from what I've read on Moto blogs,l and elsewhere, the X pure is basically a discontinued phone. It's still very good, IMO, but if you really need the "Oreo" experience, you'll have to step up to the more recent series, such as the X4 (or X n it's 4th generation phase). No more "Pure editions" as they're likely not "cost effective" by means of not generating revenue via the excessive imbedded commercialized apps. Just my opinion though, for whatever it's worth.
BTW, the X4 is currently on sale for $349 at Best Buy.
I'll stay with my X pure for the foreseeable future...

My MXPE hasn't received Nougat yet. It's March. Some of my necessary apps are beginning to not function (like my online bank). The phone is shutting itself off at 30% battery life, and when I use the camera. I've factory reformatted it and cleared half the memory. The bootloader is unlocked and the carrier is Cricket if those details matter. I don't want to buy a new phone and am wondering if forcing the update somehow would resolve these problems.
Can anyone help me update? Or otherwise fix my phone?

The battery issue might just be related to the phone's age.

my understanding is that you have to be "stock" to receive the OTA so the fact that your bootloader is unlocked could be why you havent received it.

Bootloader locked or unlocked is not relevant to OTA updates... It has been seen before that some IMEI numbers are just not listed properly on Moto's update servers, and that is the most common cause of not getting update notifications in an otherwise unmodified device.

We also know that Moto's update servers keep track of what device got what update... and there have been issues where if the server logged your IMEI got "update A" from it, then it requested "update C" it will not offer that update as available to that IMEI number because the server doesn't have a log entry that it updated the device to "update B". This is commonly an issue for people who have flashed factory images, when it occurs.
