So Oreo is a fail. As designed features are counter productive and the constant freezing and rebooting is driving me nuts.

Does anyone have an educated guess as to when an update will be avail?

I am not having constant freezing or reboots.

Oreo is running good for me.

What are you doing when it freezes or reboots ?
Anything specific ?

I'm not experiencing any freezing or random reboots. I'm fact since the upgrade I've had great battery life and buttery smooth operation. Sorry to hear you're having so many issues.

It doesn't freeze on any specific app. It's done it in a bunch; common ones too ( maps, Netflix, messages). Quite often when rotating the screen and using the recents menu.
I've looked online and see it's fairly common with pixel XL owners.
I thought it might be Nova launcher but there's nothing online that suggests that and I switched back to pixel launcher and the crashes continue.

I haven't experienced anything of the sort either. It sounds like you have something installed (that everyone else that has responded so far doesn't) that is causing these issues. Hard to blame the OS when you're one of a few that have problems. Now, are you willing to do a factory reset and not install 200 apps, just the basic OS, and try it for a day? Then add back one app a day until you find the one causing it?

Yeah, I've done a factory reset but didn't add apps back one at a time. Although, I don't have a ton of apps to begin with and no games.

I was prompted for the 8.1.0 beta last night. I installed and seems to be much better already, no crashes and they've improved on a couple UI annoyances from 8.0.0. Mind you, it's only been a day.

And see, that's the problem. You restored what was wrong. I know it's a pain in the @ss to reinstall apps singly, but it's the only way to ensure whatever was wrong doesn't get migrated right back in. It could be the app itself, or one or more of it's data files, that's causing your particular problem. Good luck!

the only issue I had was that it broke my bluetooth and car comparability.

I installed 8.1 today though, so hopefully that'll fix it. I also like the look of 8.1 a lot more as well. everything is pretty transparent
