Woke up today to Oreo update available .

Is it worth doing?

What can I expect ?

What should I be aware of?

This is a Wi-Fi , s3 in the USA

Anyone else done it yet, thoughts?

Thanks

Gee, I don't know - https://forums.androidcentral.com/samsung-galaxy-tab-s3/880588-any-news-tab-3-getting-oreo-2.html

I have it. So far it seems to have been mostly under the surface changes. There are some changes to the long-press menu for home screen icons, the homescreen folders have a slightly different look to them, the notification shade has a slightly different "feel" for some notifications. Icon badges are now tied to the notification shade.

Oh yeah - there are now multiple ways to get to your main list of apps. The icon remains, but the swipe up gesture also works.

It didn't overwrite my settings, but just to be safe you may want to back your tablet's information up (I used Smart Switch & backed up onto an SD card).

Just one goofy thing that annoys me. You cant remove the clock from the lock screen. I like my lock screen clean and no longer an option to do that. Other than that, some of the maintenance performance options seem pretty cool.

Everything is mostly good except for the UGLY S9/8 style clock widget (wah... Samsung, can you give the old clock widget back!!!). My tablet is 2-3x snappier and boots up much faster after the Oreo update.
