The Oreo update got an official release announcement in Brazil in the last days (there's no dates mentionnent but they do mention that it includes the March security update).

I did a bit of research and it should affect the line only after the Z3... so let's hope we're not getting abandoned

According to Engadget, a spokesperson for Lenovo said that the rumors are inaccurate, that it's not 50% of their work force and that the Moto Z line isn't going anywhere.

That's actually for the Z, not the Z Play or Z2 Play. Hopefully they'll release it soon but I'm not holding my breath.
