OTA for Marshmallow 6.0 starts today!!

So apparently Google in their infinite wisdom decided the swipe-up no longer should do anything. Matias Duarte is so brilliant....

OK, one report eleven days after I asked the question, and there's no clear indication whether it's a strict upgrade problem, a faulty app, or a configuration error. Not exactly a "horror story'.

I am still waiting for my update, grrr.... It's going to be a race soon to see what will get it first - my Nexus 7 or my Moto X Pure! Hopefully it will come down before I leave for Ireland on Tuesday.

EDIT: Am seeing that T-Mobile has delayed the update until December...so now it really is a race as to which will get Marshmallow first!

I'm on Rogers and using LG Bridge and now in the process of a 1.62GB update today... I'm assuming its 6.0?

I'm still on Kit Kat but it seems like this update is a winner. I appreciate threads like this one as they saved my from updating both my Nexus 7 and my Galaxy S5 to lollipop.

I ordered the Amazon Fire 5'th gen which I'm planning on rooting and installing CM12 (it was only $35 on black Friday weekend, how could I resist). I'm eager to see what tablet I find myself drawn to. I have been so happy with my Nexus for so long that it seems strange to me that it might become my second best tablet in the near future.

Just wanted to correct myself. For some reason I thought my Nexus 7 was only a dual core making a quad core 1.3 gigahertz processor an upgrade on the fire tab. I was wrong. The fire tab is a downgrade in every way...lol. (over my 2 year old nexus I might add). I'm pretty sure google shot themselves in the foot making such a great tablet for such a low price. If it became obsolete faster or less people already had the nexus 7 I'm guessing they would have sold a lot more Nexus 9's. (Just my opinion, probably not based on reality).

Having said all that... I still can't wait to get my $35 Fire tab and root it and put Cyanogenmod on it. Going to be my first experience rooting.
