OTA Gingerbread Reboot's And Other Problems

Ooh also, Last night I was on the Android market looking for an app, I was in MY apps & at the bottom of the list of my apps there is an uninstalled apps section, I noticed the bloatware> blockbuster, tunewiki & a bunch of others were in there.., then looked in my downloaded apps & sure enough they were gone. I am not rooted, just stock GB.. Is anyone elses bloatware gone I still have 2 Verizon apps though.. But happy they are pretty much all gone.

Anyone else having a problem with ringtones after the update? I have ringtones assigned to certain groups and now the phone just plays whatever ringtone it seems to be in the mood to play when someone calls. It's very random and is never the ringtone assigned to that person. Very frustrating.

I am having that same problem!! Very annoying and frustrating! Went to answer
the phone thinking it was my sister due to the ringtone I assigned to her, and it was
someone I was trying to avoid,,not fun!! Now before I answer I have to physically look
at my phone to see who is calling cuz none of my ringtones are matching! Is anyone
else experiencing this, and does anyone know if there is a fix for this? :(

After the update, my voicemail password no longer plays automatically. I checked the voicemail number and it is still *86,,XXXX. Unfortunately, I now have to manually enter the password.

Set it up as another "person". Call it "VZW VM" (or something). Attach it to a speed-dial entry. Then it will work.

An interesting idea. I may try it. The downside that I see is that it would not be integrated with the voicemail and message icon, but it may be better than typing in a password each time.

Hopefully, they will fix this problem in the next update.

I was getting random reboots for like 2 or 3 days but they seem to have stopped. ::crossing fingers:

I get the occasional reboot since the OTA, maybe once a day at most (or at least that I notice). Haven't had any other real issues with it since I use visual voicemail. Still annoying though, and I just don't think I want to root yet, My wife's Fascinate on the other hand....

I have found this still works if you go into settings, call, voicemail, and change it from *86 over to (XXX)XXX-XXXXpXXXX# your cell number with a p and then your password #. It seems to be working for me that way without a problem..Hope it helps!

It's just as easy to UN root as it is to root.

Quite frankly rooting provides the easiest answers to most problems.

Voicemail notifications don't work? Team bamf fixed that.

gtalk only uses back camera? go back to 605.0

Data connection or poor signal strength? try different radios

No sense 3.0 or 3.5? Don't like sense at all? Lots of solutions

It's easier to get tech support in the rooting forum than from vzw.

We're not trying to be pricks and tell you to root, but it's frustrating for someone that is rooted to see complaints about problems that are easily solved. Obviously it would be nicefor Verizon and HTC to fix these problems but the answers will always come from the development community way before vzw even will admit there is a problem.

If you want to stay stock, that is your choice, but don't be offended when someone offers you a solution to your woes. Everyone is afraid the first time they take that leap, but we're waiting for you in the rooting forum if you need help.

Some of us do not have the option to boot. i would love to but my phone is provided by my company and we are not allowed.

Thanks for the tip. I tried this, and several other options. Nothing I do affects the number dialed when I access it through the voicemail app. It stays as *86. No pauses. No password.

Voicemail quirks are annoying. Market quirks with apps saying that they are in need of updates and when you try to update them there is no option to update just open or uninstall is annoying as well. Can anyone advise if the text message issues are still going on or have they been going to the intended recipients?
