OTA update - 10.4.2012

I bought two phones the week they were first released. One for me and the second for my wife. They have most of the same apps installed especially JD. My phone is getting the OTA updates and my wife's phone isn't. I went yesterday to AT&T store and they swapped SIM cards for her phone. No change in update status. The first time it didn't connect and the second time it said it was up to date. The next step the store mgr recommended I take it to an AT&T repair center. He thinks they will either be able to fix the problem or swap the phone.

Luckily I live in the Denver area and one is fairly close to me. But my wife isn't looking forward to setting up a new phone all over again now that she had this one set up the way she likes it.

Still no update for my wife's phone or mine. It keeps telling us the communication error. Some people tell me to just wait because it will eventually come to our phone through an OTA but it's been like three weeks already.... I've done everything and yet still waiting
 
Just got new replacement phones and the new ones are also broken. Both replacement phones tell me the communication error. I m fed up...any ideas??
 
Mine said the same thing and eventually I got the update.

OK friends.. I chatted with Samsung about this and they sent me the link to the ATT live chat support page where I logged into my account and chatted with tech support. When he looked at my account set up he said that it wasn't set up properly and what was happening was my device was not entered into the system correctly. Therefore when I tap the update the network did not recognize my device so the communication failed. He filed a ticket to have it changed and with luck, it will be working on Monday. If anyone else here is getting the 'communication failed' message I suggest you do the same. Cheers!
 
After weeks of communication failure, I finally gave up and went to the AT&T store to try the sim change. Within an hour of the sim change, I was no longer getting the communication failed error and instead getting your software is up to date. Within 24 hours, the update started to download. Success finally. I just don't think the sim/phone was set up correctly in the system. Changing the sim forced the new setup. Other than the visit to the store, this was much easier than talking to a clueless support person.
 
I went this morning to an AT&T Device Service Center. They were able to flash the phone with the correct update. I've tried about everything to get this corrected and my wife is finally happy her phone is updated.
