Hi there,

I unlocked my htc one so I could use it in the UK, and now I'm stuck on 4.1.2 unable to upgrade. Basically, the software update tells me there are no available updates, while I know there are some available!

Does anyone know why it's not working for me?

Thanks

What carrier model do you have?

My bad, I meant what carrier was the phone previously locked to.

Sorry haha, yeah it's an unlocked AT&T phone for Orange, but I'm back in the US so I'm back on AT&T. I'd been looking forward to getting the updates on arrival but my OTA isn't working. I feel like it might have to do with the fact it's unlocked?

Ah ok, yeah you are missing a couple of updates. I agree, I think it is not working because you are unlocked. Your CID might not be AT&T's anymore.

Ah alright thanks. Is there any way I can get the update then? Like change my CID or flash it or something?

Thanks

You can get the update from HTCs website, under the support tab. Make sure you read all directions. This will also erase everything on your phone so make sure that you back it up.

I think you mean an RUU right?

I believe so.

It seems everyone is quick to recommend a RUU flash. You have to be careful because your phone has to meet certain requirements before you flash it. It could be the difference between an upgraded phone or a bricked phone.

Did not know that. Thanks. My OTA update from AT&T kept falling so, that is how I got mine.
