OTA update?

Still on the February security patch on Sprint. My S7 Edge was never more than 2 months behind in patch level. I thought Samsung was making progress on this!

I am on AT&T locked S9+ with only Feb security.

Samsung and AT&T together are useless, this device could use some tweaks (especially the reimagined camera) and nadda

Sadly.. it is very hit or miss. I was hoping they would since security is good for all.

Just to add got the initial update (ARBG-286.10mb) back on 3/14 when I activated unlocked on Verizon-US. Nothing since then. Current Security Patch Level is dated Feb. 1, 2018...

I got the May security update today, but on my Essential phone. My S9 is still on the Feb 1 security update.

Just a trick. Use Smart Switch App (desktop).

I get updates much quicker than OTA.

I'm frustrated with this too. On Rogers in Canada, still on Feb patch and I thought we would have had an update from samsung by now to fix some of the many bugs. But nothing.

The S9 has been far worse compared to the S8(at least in the first 6 months) in terms of security releases from my experience.

My s8+ unlocked version got the update today for April nothing yet on my s9+ tmobile

I'm beginning to wonder if the delay in updates for the S9/+ has anything to do with Samsung waiting for a resolution to the Exynos battery drain issue. ie., are they waiting to see if the resolution will require an update to Exynos devices and then, apply the patch to all variants?

This has nothing to do with Samsung nor Exynos. Probably your carrier.

I have Exynos and have received updates very quickly; 4 updates since I have the phone.

the us government should not allow use of phones without current security patches anywhere in government. of course the government does not buy high end devices for employees.

Well this post is mainly for consumers .. not government. They do others things but that would be best reserved for another thread :).
