Otterbox Defender + Standard Dock

I searched for this & didn't come up with anything, so I apologize if it has been covered, but:

I have the Standard Dock & really want the Otterbox Defender (my fiance has one for his x2 & I really like it) - would they fit together? I have taken out the little plastic piece in the standard dock, but am not sure if there would be enough room there for the Defender...

Does anyone know?

I have the Commuter, which is smaller, and it does NOT fit into the standard dock. Ass-u-ming that the Defender is somehow not sized smaller when all is said and done, I doubt that if the Commuter does not fit that the Defender will.

I bought a nice plain black TPU case that fits in the standard dock. I'm sure it doesn't give the same level of protection as otterbox but it fits my needs.

There was a nice tip on the Moto Bionic forum from the moderator. Get one of those little triangular plastic easels for holding little pictures and set the phone on that. Bet you can find one that will work with the defender at Hobby lobby or some similar place. Use your standard charger with it Maybe not as sexy looking as the dock but it should set the phone at a good viewing angle.
