I believe they can also just add tethering to your plan (29.99?) If they feel you are tethering instead of cancelling your contract. I could be wrong but I think I remember reading that somewhere.

There's usually a clause in contracts that if you cancel too fast (like before 6 months or something), you owe not only the ETF but also some money for the phone.

In this case it would be sprint cancelling the contract, not the customer. When sprint cancels the contract there is no eft. And no charges for the device. However if you get a plan through someone like wirefly, their contract states you have to keep service for 6? Months or they will charge you the full retail price of the device. Think this would still apply no matter who cancels the contract but I could be wrong here too lol.

Wirefly definitely does this. As does Let's talk (Walmart) and Best Buy Mobile... all are off shoots of Wirefly. I work in credit card fraud and wow, they do charge those fees they tell you about!

I was more or less wondering for those days when I hate Sprint. lol
