Overall feelings about Lollipop

I like all the new Lollipop features, at least the ones we got, and I would not downgrade to Kit Kat but there are some Lollipop issues in need of a fix.

My contacts no longer sync to my vehicle. I tried disabling the stock app and for a minute they transferred using a third party app, but it was for just a minute. The following day they would no longer transfer. Some people do not have this problem with their contacts since Lollipop but many are experiencing this Bluetooth issue.

The battery does drain a bit faster, even after a factory reset. For me, not a tremendous amount, but it is noticeable.

The phone was quite snappy after the factory reset, but now it is experiencing some lag.

A lot of people are experiencing these issues and hopefully soon there will be a fix.

I did the update right after getting my Note 4 a couple weeks ago so I don't know how it ran before the update. I have been pretty happy but I have been noticing my lag the last few days. I have not installed any new apps. I don't have a bunch of games or anything crazy. I use the same handful of apps I have used for a while. I also notice what seems to be connection issues with Wi-Fi that I didn't have the first week or so. I have a Moto X as well and it doesn't have these problems at all. Not sure it that is Lollipop or Samsung phones having the same issues I've had with most of their phones. They all seem to have poor wifi connection at random times.

Other than those things all is good and I like Lollipop or at least the touchwiz version of it. Lol.

Seems to be a mixed bag for users. I'm not having any issues unique to Lollipop and battery time is very good.

I have a galaxy s5 with lollipop and I have excellent battery life! With or without power saving mode on. I have a very very small lag, but do expierence some problems with the notification panel, but it might be because of the otter box I'm using. Overall lollipop has a very great look, feels faster than KitKat, has better and more features (might be just a galaxy s5 thing), and has been treating me good.

I think it's been awesome although I did do a factory reset after. The stock SMS could use a better colour but otherwise it's been great. Battery life is about the same and I haven't noticed any lag.

Upgraded to Lollipop with no issues at all. Did not do a factory reset either. Runs smooth with no problems. If recommend it.

Thumbs completely down for Lollipoop. Removal of lockscreen taskbar icons & larger homescreen notifications are big minuses for me. Both are features I use/used constantly. The lockscreen icons of course no longer exist & the size of the homescreen notifications forces you to clear some out to read them all. I have noticeably less battery life & lost my fast charging in the car. Would much rather have Kit Kat back.

I called Samsung to report my issues and the rep wanted me to send my phone in for repair. Yeah, no, lol.

I will wait for a bug fix.

wouldnt do this either !

lollipop was not So bad for me, but it just did not get better then Kitkat, and il rather use kitkat then so i can use xposed.

if you send it they wil just flash the stock lollipop rom again and you will have the same bugs

I like Lollipop for the most part. I do have an app that I use where the keyboard has begin freezing to where I can't do anything with the phone for about a minute. The battery life on my Note 4 has gone from great when I had KitKat to simply outstanding on Lollipop. I didn't use the phone much today and since I unplugged from the charger, it's been over 12 hrs and the battery is at 92%. I won't give that up for anything.

For now, I'm keeping Lollipop on my Note 4 but I went back to KitKat on my Note Edge simply because I wanted the old version of S Health back. I like the way the old version works with my Gear S watch. I immediately rooted this phone once again on KitKat.

At the moment I went back to KitKat due to sim card errors because my carrier hasn't still released a full blown version of 5.0 (I had a ROM and my carrier here in Portugal uses a different system of bands that needs it's own custom roms)

I noticed my Battery Life was improved, but first I had to do a cache partition and a factory reset to fix the "crap" battery life right after the update.

I suppose it might be OK when it's finished but at the moment I see Lollipop as "work in progress" and not much else. I just consider myself lucky that I was able to go back to KitKat which offers me everything I want from my phone.

After updating to Lollipop, the stock messaging app became almost unusable -- severe lug and stutter. I performed a factory reset on my phone and that cleared up the messaging app issue; however, I would say my battery life performance has consistently been about 25% worse than before the update. Also, I notice more lag at times when using the phone. For me the pros of lollipop do not outweigh the cons.

This is the response I received from Samsung

So yeah, this is not happening. I have warranty service with Verizon. I would use that first before I sent off my phone for 10 days. And why can't Samsung admit it needs to push out bug fixes??

i came across this issue with KitKat where i was missing some of my contacts with my car. What i ended up doing that worked for me was removing my Bluetooth from both the phone and the car. if there's a factory restore on your car for the Bluetooth put it to factory default. Once you're done then pair it again. That should help correct your contact issue. As far as your battery draining i would monitor your current apps that you have on your phone they might be draining your battery probably not working well with your lollipop. Facebook in particular is the worse are you making sure that your video setting on your facebook is set to play video only when wifi is on? by default it's not it will drain your battery and as well use up your data.

good luck.

My car battery was removed after it died, which caused everything to reset and when I first realized I was having problems with the contacts. They were working for a minute when I started using a third party app. That does not even work anymore.

I have the same problems you're having. I've already done a factory reset and it was working fine for awhile, but now I can barely make the battery last a day, and it's as laggy as it was on Kit Kat. I'm getting a warranty replacement from T-Mo, so we'll see what happens there.
