Hi, my Nexu 7 was update to Android 4.3. I now have a problem with OverDrive media console. The task bar is beginning permanently display, thus hidden the top line of text. Is anyone else having this problem?

having the same problem on the new nexus 7 we bought today. hopefully they come out with a fix

Hi, I just got an email from OMC stating that there is an issue with the task bar (action bar) and 4.3.
They are working on the problem but they provided a temporary solution see below.
1. Open OMC, and make sure you are on the Bookshelf screen.
2. Tap the OMC settings icon (located at the upper right corner on the Action Bar).
3. Uncheck "Open in full-screen mode".

YES! This is driving me nuts. Did the system update yesterday and now can't get ride of that overdrive ribbon across the top of my book pages. I uninstalled & reinstalled and screwed up my book download. Now I'm at the back of the waiting list again.
Any solution?:(

The full screen mode allows visibility of all text but doesn't get rid of the task bar. Has anyone figured out a way to get rid of it completely?

The workaround did NOT work for me with the Nexus 7 original. The check box does nothing I can see. It WILL display almost correctly in Landscape mode.

Oops -- the workaround did work, but I had to reboot to get it to work. You could probably kill overdrive, but rebooting may be easier.

Hi you should be getting an update from OMC to resolve the issue with the action bar.
The update was received and applied to my Nexus 7, went back and checks off ?Open in full-screen mode?, everything is back to normal.

It is indeed fixed after the update from Overdrive Media (ODM), as long as you: 1) go to your bookshelf and select Settings and then make sure that 'Open in full-screen mode' is checked; and 2) that you have shut down ODM. It's not enough to simply click on 'Remove from list' from the screen of open apps. If you don't have a way of closing down running apps (like CleanMaster) you can simply hold down the power button until the Power Off option appears, click Power Off and then OK. When you restart the tablet and open ODM and select a title, the header will be out of sight and the first and last lines on the page will be visible. Good work, Overdrive people for responding so quickly!
