P20 Emotion UI 8.1

So moved from I-phone to the P-20 - love it - but come across a weird issue.

On my i-phone i had a lot of websites bookmarked as icons on the home screen. I Started doing this on the P20 - but when re-starting it they dissapear

Just to be clear im creating these bookmarks in chrome and adding to homepage.

Anyone got any ideas ?

Creating them and then adding them, or just pressing the add to home page option?
I use nova launcher and it worked fine on that, not sure why it wouldn't on the stock launcher.
