P30 Pro tripod question

Hi, I just bought a tripod for my P30 Pro, the Huawei AF14 and I'm worried about the clamp, it's my first tripod and in my opinion seems like there is too much pressure on the phone, specifications says that the maximum width supported is 85mm but I feel like it's too tight for my phone. Is there any danger to use this tripod? Is it possible to damage the phone's body? I know it's a stupid question but I want to be sure If it's safe to use this tripod. Or I should replace it with another one?

Thank you

The phone is 73.4mm wide, so there shouldn't be any problem, unless you make the clamp about 72mm and force the phone into it.

For me the clamp seems pretty hard when I try to put the phone into it, even when I start to ''expand'' it at the beginning. I honestly don't know how a 85mm phone would fit, Huawei showed a Mate 9 on their renders of the tripod which is 78.9mm. I'm curious If someone is using this tripod with a large phone.

Well, i kinda have those kind of thoughts. Thus i bought a Sirui Tabletop tripod. Uses tightening and loosening by screw.
