Pairing with Android Wear?

I'm unable to pair my new P9 with my Huawei Watch 0925 - The Android Wear app reports "Incompatible Android Wear device connected. Please use an official Android Wear in China device."

Has anyone else seen this problem?

The firmware on the P9 is very China-centric, which is cute but somewhat less than functional in the United States. Does anyone know if Huawei has plans to release a US firmware anytime soon?

Absolutely loving the phone otherwise - The modifications Huawei made to Android make it feel like a far more usable device than the near-stock experience I had on my LG G4.

I have the same error with the same phone.
Funny thing is I have a huawei watch.
Cannot find any solution yet.
Will update if I find any.
