"Party Mode" not working for me. Missing something?

So I've created several events that I invited my fiance to, and we both enabled 'party mode.' She has a GNEX running ICS, and I am running JB. I took pictures - they didn't show up. She took pics - they didn't show up. I even tried manually selecting pictures within the app (pics that I'd previously taken). No pics show up in the event.

What am I missing?

update: so 30 mins after the event ended I got an email asking if I wanted to post the images. This is fine, I was just under the impression they would live stream, but I guess that would be if I posted an update (w/ pic) to the event like the event was a circle. When would I have received the email if I hadn't specified an event end time?

We tried this yesterday for the first time. I think the only setting I messed up was I didn't specify an end time.

BUT all the pics I took were instantly pushed to the stream. Didn't matter if I used the camera itself or clicked that camera icon within the G+ app.

My friend right next to me, none of her pictures showed up until like 8 hours later that night. All of our settings on our phones were exactly the same, with the only differences being me on ICS, 4G, Sprint and she on GB, 3G, US Cellular.

Even my brother who wasn't actually with us but was at work 40 miles away was able to instantly push pictures to the stream. He was listed as "Attending" or however it's worded.

At the end of it all, I chalked it up to either newborn bugs or something to do with it not having an end time. But that would make some sense if I was the host and they were only working for me, but like I said, my brother was able to stream them too.
