Password help!

Hi, when I woke this morning my phone said I had to enter my password instead of finger print. I got it wrong several times even though I'm sure I was right. Anyway went into find my mobile and got into my phone. But when I try and put my finger print in or go to screen luck (it's set back to swipe) its asking for my old password, which obviously I don't know.
Any help with this please?

I assume this will work for Samsung phones...

Go to https://www.google.com/android/devicemanager , sign into your Gmail account, then follow the directions to reset your phone's password. So long as your phone has an active data connection, it should work.

Click the Lock option. You will then be asked to create a new password.

I didnt need to in the end, the phone said after a few wrong tries to do my finger print again, weird

Well, it is a good thing to know anyway; you might even want to test it out so you understand how it works in case you need it in the future.
