Password lock timeout

I don't know why I just discovered this, but it looks like you can't select a lock delay longer than 10 minutes if you're using a password lock. I'm a bit baffled by this; if you're using a slide lock (and maybe PIN or pattern, though I haven't checked), the delay can be up to 30 minutes. I don't understand why Android forces a shorter timeout when a password is in use.

This is the case both in stock 4.0.4 and in CM9. I don't suppose this has been changed in JB, has it? If not, does anybody know of any ROMs that allow a longer lock timeout with a password, or a way to hack this to allow a longer delay?

Its probably because if you set up a pin, pattern, or password you don't want someone accessing your phone. 30 min is a long time for someone to be able to pick up your phone and snoop around. Even 10 mins can be too. Long enough for you to sit your phone down, and walk into another room, or time for everyone to leave the room, and then you have free roam of the phone. If you use a slide unlock, there is no security, so the 30 mins is there for convenience.

Maybe that's the thinking, but hey, that should be the user's decision, shouldn't it?

My employer's security policies require a password lock on the phone, but they allow a 30-minute delay. And I work for a very security-conscious company. I have no sensitive information on my phone, so I just want to comply with the policy with minimal inconvenience for me.

Anyway, my question still stands: anybody know of a ROM that will support a 30-minute password lock delay? My old Fascinate allowed it, so I know it's possible.

Ok. I just tried it on AOKP JB Build 1 and with pattern unlock it goes up to 30min. Didn't try any of the other one though. Hope this helps.

Decided to take the plunge and installed AOKP. It does indeed support a 30-minute password timeout. Thanks for the clue...
