I can't for the life of me figure out how to paste a phone number in the phone app that comes with the phone. Why isn't there a blank text box where I can long press and paste a number I copied from a website and then call it?

I second or third that!!! One thing I really miss from Blackberry. Sometimes I actually have to write the number down to then dial it.

I don't have that option in skyfire. The number is in this format 555.555.1234, maybe that is why or maybe its just skyfire. How can something so simple and common sense be overlooked?

That's a SkyFire problem -- works fine in the HTC Browser. But I agree, a simple box to enter numbers would be nice.

No, I have the same problem working with either the e-mail or stock Android browser.

The problem is when the number format is xxx.xxx.xxxx. Android doesn't recognize it when it uses periods. This is galactically stupid.

Lol, you're correct. Other phone number formats are fine. You should contact HTC and/or Verizon and see if they'll add it as a feature request of some sort. Do we know if it works on other non-HTC devices?

while viewing the webpage, open up another tab to Google. search the company and on the results page you should see the quick business Info involving address, phone number, Places Rating. it allows you to tap the business phone number & call it through the HTC Dialer.

not a direct solution, but a work-around

I agree that this is a stupidly over looked issue. A simple input window option on the dialer would have resolved all of this.

This is a limit on HTC because my old Droid X did not have this problem at all. In fact there was a place to paste the number in the dialer where on the Thunderbolt there is no place.

Yeah, most phones have that. I was referring to other devices recognizing 123.456.7890 formatted numbers as phone numbers, and giving the option to call when selected.

Does rooting and getting rid of sense resolve this issue? Not that I would do this right now since I'm happy with sense and its look/features.
