I hear there is a security patch being released. I have kit Kat I am not being notified of a patch nor is my device acknowledge there is such update.

You may be thinking of 4.4.4 which I don't think we will see for some time if at all.

Jude, there was a security patch released for the S5 and Note 3's for the S Finder app (more Samsung phones too I'm sure). I received it via opening the Samsung App store and checking for updates, which it was there, it never pushed to my phone. Hope this helps!
