Hello everyone,

This is a great forum that I've used whenever I need information.

I have kind of a unique issue with my Nexus 4 that I am hoping other people have worked on as well. I am currently running Android 4.3 with the LTE antenna patch so that I am able to get on T-mobile's 4g network. I really want to update to the new 4.4 version of Android but don't want to lose the patch. Has anyone else with a patched phone upgraded? What was the result? Did you have to re-patch the antenna?

Also, is anyone else having an issue updating Android after encrypting your phone? I get the OTA update and when I choose to update, it resets into boot loader. Is anyone else experiencing this?

In order to get LTE enabled on your device, the radio and build.prop are modified, therefor the OTA update will not work regardless since it detects changes in system, so in this case atleast it refuses to install instead of softbricking your phone.

You can manually flash a stock rom like this one, it won't overwrite your radio, use the odexed version: [ROM] [KitKat][KRT16S] Nexus 4 4.4 stock (deodexed, rooted, busybox) - xda-developers

Your LTE radio is still there, but still you need to flash the EnableNexus4LTE.zip to modify your build.prop in order to enable LTE in the phone: [REF] Mako hybrid modem collection V2 - xda-developers

The same answer applies to any future updates from now, OTA updates will fail to install and you need to manually reapply the LTE patch
