Pathetic battery life on the tab s3.

My battery life has been pretty damn sad. Usually around 4 hours of screen on time with light tasks and dim backlight. The tab also lags severely. Anyone else here having the same issues? My s8+ runs circles around this tablet in terms of performance. Samsung really dropped the ball with this one.

That's odd... Do any apps show a weird consumption in the battery report? Mine lasts all day taking notes and checking e-mails and browsing at work, then quite a bit of browsing and a couple of movies at home (I'm traveling right now and not much to do but watch stuff online haha). I'd say 10 hours at least with WiFi off during sleep and a couple levels above the dimmest brightness setting.

Battery life not super good, but 4hrs seem excessively low to me. I should be able to get at least 6hrs SOT even if I played some games.

It does lag to me, sometimes when click an app, it will take a second or two to open up

As I am mostly bedridden with spinal issues, I use my tablet a LOT, (helps to pass the time) and I am averaging between 11-13 hours of Internet use, (12-14 hours of video playback) so I would say that this is a pretty exceptional tablet. It sounds like you have a dud. I hope you are able to get a replacement, as the Tab S3 really is an amazing device.

My battery life is very good and I'm pleased with it. A really nice tab all around, no issues at all. OP, your battery life should be a lot better. has it been like this from day one or recently? The lagging is a tip off to something being up with it. Can it be some app recently installed? Does it run warm? Mine is always cool. I'd try a factory reset and start over but certainly would not put up with either of those issues.

Funny, I'd say this tablet has the best battery life of any smartphone or tablet I've ever owned, and it's not close. Perhaps that speaks as much to my past purchases as it does to this tablet itself, but still, I'd say it's far from pathetic.

I've been traveling for about a month and have been using the tablet and keyboard cover as my laptop. Battery life has been outstanding, especially compared to my Nexus 9. I get about 11 hours or so from a charge. Been using it as an e-reader, a laptop, music player, for watching movies...you get my drift. As other posters suggested, you may want to see what you have running in the background or just try a factory reset and start all over. This tablet is an outstanding high end device...it's what the Nexus 9 should have been.

I swapped my tab for a new one and I'm getting similar results. Fresh install. No apps installed and only using chrome. Basic web browsing with backlight at around 30% and I'm only getting around 5 hours and 40 minutes of screen on time total. My tab S2 got me around an hour more running marshmallow.

Ummm... am I the only person wondering why this guy has had two Tab S3's with the same abysmal battery life, when the rest of the planet is praising this tablet for its remarkable battery life?

Not going to go into the whole 'fanboy' debacle here, and I don't doubt you might be seeing less-than-stellar battery life (as we don't use the same apps and have the same processes running), but here are MY stellar results just like the other posters here (granted, not 'the rest of the planet' unless this was a very tiny tiny planet) have experienced. Nearly 4 hours SOT of mostly DirecTV Now streaming at 20 or 30 percent brightness and over 60% battery left (so roughly a little over 1 hour per 10% of battery consumed). In the end I should get 10 or 11 hours of continuous use. So yeah, pretty happy with the battery life.

The rest of the planet? That's such a fanboyish statement. Why don't you back up your claim with a screen shot of your amazing 11 hours of SoT? Even android centric review sites point out this tablet's mediocre battery life. Samsung Galaxy Tab S3 review - Android Authority

Well smarty-pants, I got 11.5 hours yesterday. If you're not seeing similar results you may have a problem... well, I mean with other than just your attitude...
