Pathetic excuse for a mobile phone flashlight!

Just got the phone back from service after i dropped it the first week and it broke right down the length of the back glass plate. What pisses me off, is the crappy light that emits from the flashlight...i mean..i came from Samsung galaxys,,from the cheap to the high end,,even the cheap ones had a nice bright beam. I complained/inquired at the Sony service store,,and they showed me compatible other Sony Z3,Z1 etc,,and they all sucked for flashlights.

Does anyone know of a way to increase the brightness?? The other mobile phones can do it.

I have no root. Is there a solution post-root? I've never tried it, and I've been too intimidated to attempt for fear of bricking my new baby.
