Pattern Unlock Not Working

[Android Central Question]

a couple of days ago my phone (lg k20 plus) stopped unlocking using my pattern despite it being correct. after i draw my pattern, the screen goes black for a moment (sometimes it'll even flash my home screen a second) but then returns to what it looks like when locked. luckily i can use the fingerprint to get in. i've tried turning off the pattern unlock setting, but when i try to it asks for my pattern and then says "unfortunately, lock screen settings has stopped." i'm at a loss as to how to fix it

Make sure you back up everything ,you might have to factory reset to fix this .
