PC does not see my Xperia

When I connect my xperia device to my pc via usb-cable, my pc does not see it. Sometimes happens miracle and my pc see it. What can it be?

Do you have the updated drivers installed? Are you running Windows? Which version? If on 8 or newer, it might be a driver authentications issue.

I am running Mac OSX Maveriks. Installed the Sony Bride for Mac. But I also tried it on an laptop and it also doesn't seem to work.
