Pedometer issues

Yesterday my pedometer just stopped working out of the blue. I haven't installed any new apps in that time, just updates to the ones I already have. I tried turning the device off and back on, checked all the settings but no luck, my steps and distance are not measured. Has anyone encountered the same issue?

No, I hoped it could be avoided. I got the phone two weeks ago and I just finished setting it up the way I want to, so I hoped that there was an easier fix

Edit: I checked whether sensors were working OK, and they are fine, so I narrowed the issue to the Health app itself. Also I noticed steps started working when I played Pokémon Go today
