Hi, I'm trying to turn my galaxy tab in a car infotainment screen like, my question is:

Can i have a permanent sidebar on my tablet like the one in the car screens with phone, media, maps icons?

Similar to the bar in android auto for example.

I tried a lot of sidebar apps but in every app the bar is hide and i have to swipe or tap to open it. I want instead a permanent sidebar where i can tap on an icon, having the sidebar always on screen...

Welcome to Android Central forums. I'm not sure if this is what you are looking for but a quick Google says that if you want to turn a tablet into an Android Auto type interface it recommends an app, Headunit Reloaded.

Read more here.

You can turn an Android tablet into an Android Auto car head unit by connecting it to your phone and downloading the Headunit Reloaded app. You can connect your tablet wirelessly or with a USB cable. [1]
Wireless connection [1]

  1. Turn on your tablet's Wi-Fi hotspot
  2. Download the Wi-Fi Launcher app on your phone
  3. Connect your tablet to your phone's Wi-Fi hotspot
USB connection [1]
  1. Connect your tablet to your phone with a USB data cable
  2. Launch the Headunit Reloaded app on your tablet
  3. Android Auto should appear on your tablet's display
