Permanently turn off System Auto Update

I have a Note 9 and I can't permanently stop it from updating from Oreo to Pie. I have developer options on and auto update is disabled from in there and the security update is also disabled and set to update over wifi only. Once a day when I'm on wifi it starts to do the Pie update until I turn off the wifi and the downloading stops. Today it started downloading the update without the wifi and I had to force stop it in the running apps. How can I disable it permanently when even the developer options doesn't help to stop it? I don't want the damn Pie update and I don't know how to root or want to go to that option.

To get good advice, you should state which version of the Note 9 it is that you have.
Exynos?
Snapdragon (unlocked or carrier branded)?

Sorry I have a Verizon model and it has Snapdragon and version 8.1.0.

Sorry, I'm not sure what that is or how to do it. Any instructions? It already ended up downloading it so now I have to keep delaying the installation portion.

Use an app identifier app, like APP INSPECTOR or similar, in order to identify the exact name of the system update apps and then "remove" them. They aren't actually removed but more like disabled.

Buy Package Disabler Pro from the Play Store, you can use that to disable anything and everything including auto updates, which I did.

I was gong to use package disabler pro, but read that some no longer trust it, due to it repeatedly needing to be repurchased.

I doubt it. Since my note 8 I paid three times for this app. Finally had enough. Dont get me wrong I fully like to support a developer, but this guy was taking the pi$$.

I haven't used that app, but I have the LG version on my wishlist for my V20. How is it charging you multiple times? Once you purchase an app on the Play store, it's yours forever. Unless there's a specific app for each phone, meaning your Note 8 app doesn't work for the Note 9, and there's a Note 9 version that doesn't work on the Note 8?

When the device got updated firmware wise or I think on one occasion security update it would deem the app not to work anymore. The publisher then duly rebrands his app with a slightly different name and one has to again purchase it for it to work.

On a positive note, I did enjoy his or her app. It worked well.

Negative. That only works if you had purchased a product that had the same name. The dev would update his or her product and also give it a different name, example, adding a "+" at the end of the app name. Then one would have to buy the new app for it to work. That's how I remember it to be.

My phone hasn't updated yet, and the update I would have gotten has been out for a while now.

Just wanted to update and let you know that your suggestion worked! I purchased the disabler from the website directly and no more reminders have popped up since! Thanks again.
