Persistent reminder notifications from messaging app

Is there anyway to stop the persistent notifications that pop up from LG's messaging app? Like if a text comes in, you don't open the message, but swipe the notification of it away, then like 30 minutes later the notification comes up again. I see nothing in the settings of the app to stop the reminder behavior. Just wondering if any other users have found a way around this other than using another messaging app.

Yeah, I have to no repeat in settings of the messaging app. But still like if I get a text from my wife at say10am, swipe it away, it will come back again later. Anyone else with this with LG stock messaging app?

It's on or off, period.

Mine just keeps repeating the notification until I do something. And did not answer a phone the other day and was getting consistent notification noise. What the hell is going on?

Ok, got my notifications back to normal. Settings/general/accessibility /persistent repeat notifications for unanswered messages or calls. Turned it off. Now a message rings once and done. Hope it helps someone else.

Hey can you post a screenshot of that? I don't have the under accessibility. My V20 is TMobile. What carrier are you on?

I have this problem as well with my T-Mobile LG V20 and also don't have that option. It's annoying that text messages come back after they're swiped away. The times aren't even consistent. They should come back after 5 minutes, sometimes 20, 30, 50, 1hr. Etc. Not at all those times but it randomly chooses one of those time intervals until I go to messages and actually open the message.
