Persistent "system ui has stopped messages" and notification bar missing.

So I'm running a 100% stock tmobile htc one, I get the system ui has stopped message every couple hours and every time I adjust my media volume. Even more annoying is the fact that my notification bar is completely missing, applications and wallpapers are even stretching to fit the whole screen as if the notification bar never existed. My device is completely unmodified, I've tried factory resets multiple times and found no success, and not surprisingly neither tmobile nor htc cs were any help whatsoever. I've only had this phone for about 3 months and I'm incredibly frustrated so any help would be greatly appreciated.

Did you received any error message saying that playstore stop working, or playstore crashed, if you accidentally disabled downliad manager, it can cause the system fail.

Haven't seen that one. Any way I can check if my download manager has stopped working?

Go to System Settings/Apps/All, and see if you can find Download Manager under the D's. If it isn't there, then scroll all the way to the bottom of the list, where disabled apps are shown. If you find it there, select it and tap "Enable."

Found it near the top of the list, it was enabled and seemed to be working fine.

So when you've done the factory reset, you mean doing the complete wipe, having to set the phone up from scratch? If so, do you notice your problems right away, or is it after you've installed a few of your apps back onto the phone? If you've installed some apps, I would suggest booting into Safe Mode following the instructions here: Reset: HTC One (LTE) | T-Mobile Support. If you don't have any problems in Safe Mode, there is some 3rd party app that is messing with your system.

Yes a full reset, it doesn't seem to make any difference whether I restore any of my accounts our settings. The problem returns immediately, as soon as I am shown a lock screen I get the message and all the problems start again.

Talk to T-Mobile and tell them all you've done to correct the problem. Ask them if they can give you a replacement. If they won't, you might have to talk to HTC directly for warranty work.

Had the same problem on my HTC evo v. Several other htc owners on this forum were having the same problem. Looks like it was a recent fb update that was causing the problem. Several days after reading about it on this site, fb had an update (9/30 /13) so I uninstalled / reinstalled the fb app and for the last week I have not had a single problem.
