A voicemail notification popped up last night on my phone, which is odd because I use google voice, but every time I click it it calls my voicemail and I get my voicemail message asking me to leave a message. I went into settings and switched my voicemail provider back from google voice and did it again but the the notification is still there. Anyone know how to get rid of it?

Is it a GV notification or a notification from your carrier's VM system? The icon will tell you as they are different. If it's your carrier's VM you'll need to disable conditional call forwarding (if you "activated GV voicemail" for your line), call into your carrier's VM system, delete the message and re-enable conditional call forwarding.

It's a carrier notification, but the problem is that when I call my voicemail system, it doesnt give me the option to check my messages, I simply hear my greeting and it asks me to leave a message.

The notification is still there after days. Anyone have any other ideas?

Call your number from a different phone and when you get to the voicemail to leave a message hit # and you should be able to put in your passcode and use voicemail like you would on your own phone normally.

So I uninstalled google voice, but when I call my voicemail I'm still hearing my google voice greeting. I also left a voicemail to myself, and no new notification showed up. The original one is still there though, and I can't check my messages still.

Ok, so I finally got into my voicemail box, and marked all the messages as read, but the notification is still there. This really doesn't make any sense.

Have you tried calling your regular cell phone number instead of your Google Voice number?

yes, I completely uninstalled google voice and went into my regular inbox and marked all the voicemails as read
