Phantom touch on my Nexus

I had a phantom touch on my tablet, meaning it would basically act on it's own. It would open up apps and settings without me even touching it. I sent it to Asus and after a lengthy wait, I got it back today. It's in worse condition than it was before. There were multiple creaks around the tablet when at first there was only one. And the ghost touch was worse. I got back on the phone with Asus and looking at my tablet, witnessed it open up chrome and 8 new webpages. They want me to send it back in, but I don't want to do that as they did nothing to fix the problem from before. Is there any way to fix it without sending it in?

I would be surprised if there was. I had the same issue with my old Palm Pre phone and it was not user-fixable - it was a hardware problem.

Unfortunately no. Do you know what was done to try to fix it the first time around? It sounds like it's an issue with the digitizer and a replacement of the screen would fix it. It would require you sending it back in, though.

I know that much. I found out that majority of the early models are defective. I brought that up in my issue report but apparently that doesn't matter

The color nook has this issue when the charger is attached. It is the result of the nature of the capacitive screen used in tablets. Some iPads also exhibit the behavior.

I think you will have to send it in to get it fixed.
