Phil's thoughts on the LG Nexus leaks ...

Dieter says the 8 meg is better than the 13. Any thoughts?

Are you referring to the camera? If so then its very possible. I haven't used it but the MP basically means the size of the photo not the quality.(At least that's my understanding)

Its possible that the 8MP has a better lens than the 13 and would likely hold up better as well since its flush with the back and not sticking out.

Yeah, this comes up a lot. More megapixels just gives you a larger picture (i.e. higher resolution, there are more pixels in the image), but it doesn't necessarily mean that the quality of the picture is improved. In fact to take advantage of the increased megapixels, it's usually necessary to also improve the lens, sensor size, etc. If LG didn't improve these other pieces of hardware on the 13MP version they it may very well have worse looking pictures. Ultimately the camera quality has to be determined by real world use, not by specs.

I swiped this quote from the "Digital Camera Resource site: Frequently Asked Questions | Digital Camera Resource Page
Do more Megapixels translate into better photo quality?

No. Despite what the sales person at the electronics store may have told you, more pixels does NOT mean better photo quality. Increasing the Megapixels (resolution) of the camera merely increases the size of the photo. This means that you can make larger prints, or crop a large area without losing too much detail. Since even a 4 Megapixel camera can make a nice 8 x 10 inch print, there's no need to spend more money on an 8 or 10 Megapixel camera.

Believe it or not, high resolution cameras may even have worse photo quality than their lower resolution counterparts. The more pixels on a camera's sensor, the more tightly packed together they are. That means more noise, less sensitivity, and potentially more purple fringing.

So don't be fooled by the Megapixel myth!

I stand corrected, thanks. I was under the incorrect belief that both s4 pro chips were quads. Thanks for the correction. Not sure how I feel now about that chip :-/

I agree I'd rather have integrated LTE then an extra two CPU cores

The integration with the external modem on the quad is done well enough that battery life should still be great.

It'll be paired with the latest modem that's also built on the 28nm process.

i'm gonna need AT&T LTE on this thing in order to buy it. What's the point of buying a non-4G phone now? iPhone is LTE, Nexus NEEDS to be as well.

X2.

I always want a Nexus when they finally hit Tampa town, but I have a One X now and I'm not going backwards as far as speed.

No LTE, then not for me.

My next concern is LG itself.

The washers and dryers are great, but does anyone remember the G2X ?

I didnt keep that one but a few days and returned it.

Wasn't that because of software?

I wonder how long will have to wait for a white version. If they do come out with one I hope it's sold through play store. What happen to multi-color nexus logo? Will they change up the dull imo Google logo on the back of their nexus phones?
