Is there anything that can be done to make the One's phone interface more readable? I use it frequently outdoors, and even in shade it's a huge struggle to see it. The gray and black color scheme is very difficult to read, even on brightest settings. I installed a contacts app with a white background, and that's great for what it does, but it's not a complete phone app. Are color scheme "apps" available? Or other phone apps anyone would recommend?

are you rooted? if not, there are plenty of themes out there to download and install. or maybe you'd like a launcher that changes the colors for you. I can tell you, though, from personal research, that the eye reads black letters on white background from seeing the white outline around it. so, I changed my phone (rooted) to have white letters on black, and it's a lot easier to read from far away. maybe this even saves battery, from not having to make the background white all the time, but that's just my speculation...

I experimented with a couple dialer/contact apps, and settled on RocketDial. The stock skin is dark, but the contrast and readability is SO much better than the native light gray on dark grey. And different skins are available. I created a launch dock folder with RocketDial and the native phone app until I can figure out if I'll still need the native phone app in the launch dock for any reason.
