Question Phone battery always at 0% after replacing

Hi i had zenfone 8 flip for couple of years and the battery is going bad so i bought a replacement. After installing the new battery the phone doesn't turn on, plugging in the charger it says charging with 0% battery. I waited for couple of hours and it still shows 0% and will not turn on. I cant access to bootloader or recovery either. I have bought another battery thinking the latter might be a faulty but the problem still persists
