My husband and I both got Inspires on Saturday, April 2nd. We are both on the AT&T network. We broke up with our iPhones because of the extra capabilities of the Inspire. The interface is beautiful, and the capabilities are endless. BUT....

This morning, my husband was trying to call me, and he could hear me, but all I could hear was me echoing back into the speaker. We both had 4 bars, and neither one of us were on Wi-Fi (I tried both). When I called him on his other phone which is a clamshell on the Sprint network (his work phone), he could hear me just fine, and I could hear him, with no echo. Could he have just gotten a defective Inspire? It was working fine yesterday. Has anyone else had this issue? Is there a fix for audio issues? Is it the phone or AT&T? Please help, we really want the Inspire to be awesome for us

Did you try calling him back on the Inspire before or after you called him on his clamshell and did you still get the echo?

I have had it happen on other phones, both cellular and landlines, where a call was bad even though the signal strength was good, only to hangup and call back and have a perfectly good call.

Yes, he tried me, and I tried him several times to no avail. I wonder if, even with him having 4 bars, if it is a bad area.

Yeah, that seems odd. I have never experienced any call issues with my Inspire yet but I have with my iPhone previously. These usually dealt more with bad areas than bad phones though. It would not hurt to swap it out though since you are so early on the 30 days and try out another device. Good luck!

I have had this problem too and I found out that it was my bluetooth. Are you using a bt headset when making your calls or is he?

Also try doing a restart. Hold the power button until the menu pops up and choose restart. That should clear out anything that may be interfering. If that doesn't work (or you have to keep doing it alot) go swap it out.

I've had the echo issue with my Blackberries, Nexus1, and my wife had it with her iphone 3g (she now has my N1 still with the echo). This happens only occasionally, sometimes with one of us, sometimes both of us during a call. It will just come and go during a call. I think the problem is with AT&T not the phones. So far I don't recall having it with my Inspire but I may have and just ignored it.
