Phone Dialer on Note8 Goes Black`

Whenever I am on a call, my phone screen goes black after about 10 seconds of inactivity. Then you have to hit the lock screen or home button to light it up. It's very annoying for conference calls - especially if you need to be on Mute or off Mute quickly.
I downloaded a Keep Screen On App, but it drains the battery so fast and doesn't work well.
Any ideas on what to do to have the phone dialer screen stay on during calls?

Hi and welcome to Android Central. Have you tried adjusting your screen timeout settings? Samsung default is 30 seconds. Go to Settings/Display/Screen Timeout to change it. I don't know that this method will help with your battery drain. The Note has a big display and no matter if it's an app or a setting that is keeping it on, it will drain your battery a fair amount either way. Changing it back after the call will help your battery last a little longer.
