My phone display seems to be using 70% of the battery even with the brightness set at 0. Anyone else seeing this much drainage from the screen being on? (No live wallpaper, six widgets running)

I have an extended battery so it all depends....the most use comes from the display and actually talking on the phone. Screen time out is on 2 minutes or I usually shut it off on my own before then.

Edit: I just received the extended battery so im testing it out. I'd say with heavy use during the day by 5 Im at Thirty to Forty percent. I understand majority of the drain is coming from the internet and flash but the display being at 70 % I thought was kind of odd being that the brightness is all the way down.

I have a standard battery with a 2 minute delay on the display blackout/lock and do as you do - manually lock it before the 2 minutes kicks in. With heavy usage, I'm generally at about 30-40 percent by day's end... but with a regular battery.

The display is usually the greatest power hog. Wondering if you have some widgets that update frequently. Some are way more power hungry than others, for instance any "news" widget. Check the refresh rates for these and lower them - see if that makes a difference.

It's a huge screen. It's going to be like that if you use the phone a lot. The only time the display doesn't use so much battery is if my phone is on standby with the screen off for a long period of time.
