Phone icon gone?

So my phone icon is gone and I have no idea how to get it back? Tried restarting, no luck. Anyone else have this issue?

I was really hoping I didnt have to hard reset... I guess I'll back up phone and try

You can try to shut down the phone completely then turn it on again. Or try to clear cache in the bootloader.

Is it gone from the app drawer too? Not to sound simple, but ive seen new android users move or delete an app from the screen and not realize its n the app drawer to re drag it where u want it.

I have the problem myself where the icon is missing from my app drawer and on screen, along with my contacts stopping. Usually after restarting the phone once or twice it appears or pipping the battery out. I've been to Samsung about this issue already, after coming up empty handed why this stuff is happening were guessing their just not meshing we'll with kitkat, hopefully lollipop fixes these small bugs
