Got my GN yesterday and am loving it (came from DX). Im a light data user, maybe 900MB a month. I set up the phone the best I could with battery life in mind and it still ate through 30% sitting on my nightstand last night (with WIFI on). Just curious if this is everyones experience? As for apps I have the Facebook widget and thats it. I work on call 24/7 which means if I go to bed with 50% or less battery I could wake up to a dead phone. Any tips are appreciated as Im still learning 4.0

Settings>About Phone>Battery Use

That will tell you what chews through batter as well as give you a neat little graph of when the phone is awake, Wifi is on, and screen on, as well as a signal strength meter (at least on Gingerbread, I assume they kept it the same on ICS). Keep in mind Wifi will always eat up a little battery. When do you charge your phone though? I charge it every night which is what most people do.

Facebook may be the culprit. I've seen many people reporting battery drain issues with the Facebook app. When I'm on wifi my idle drain is about 1.5 percent an hour. That's with four push email accounts synching, hourly weather updates, and two Gtalk accounts running.

Ive deleted my FB widget since I rarely used it anyway so Ill see if that helps and Ive always just topped off here and there during the day but i may have to switch to charging at night. Im surprised it doesnt have a Nighttime Saver feature like my X had (after 15 min idle it stops syncing data during user specified hours), anyway, keep the tips coming.

Okay, after snooping through battery settings it appears I had a signal loss last night and that really drained the battery quickly, cant tell for how long looking at the chart though, so Ill keep an eye on that. How do I reset the battery usage stats? Say I want to reset them before I go to bed and check them in the am?

Only way I know of is to charge to 100%.

Download Android System Info from the market and see if any apps are using a lot of RAM. Could be some stupid app, I noticed Facebook (which I NEVER used anymore) using quite a bit of RAM and even CPU and starting to show up on my Battery Use stats so I just uninstalled the app. Tweetdeck is a lighter and faster app anyways and even has twitter.
