Phone keeps changing to grayscale

My husband's s9+ keeps changing to grayscale for seemingly no reason. We have not been able to find any setting in his phone that he may have accidentally set so we took it to the local T-Mo store to see if they could figure it out. They checked the power settings to see if that was the problem but it wasn't. They looked through several other settings and could not find the cause. We got a replacement for the phone today and before we could get even a mile away from the store it changed again!

Does anyone have a clue to what could be causing this?

Could it be an app? Was it doing it before you loaded any apps on it?

We wondered the same thing. We copied his setup from his S8 and did not add any new apps. He is a very simple fella with very few apps. The new phone change dwhen he opened the phone app to call our son. Previously he could set it down and when he picked up it would change seconds after he unlocked it.

I did a factory reset and we are now waiting and watching.

Not it. That was the first thing we checked.

Well, so far since the factory reset his phone has not changed to grayscale. I can only guess it was something that was copied from his s8 files/settings that caused it to change. As long as I don't hear him swear at it I can assume it is fixed.
