phone keeps flashing in a loop in home screen

for some reason, when i power up the phone today. at the home screen, it keeps refreshing, like re-painting the home screen, every 5 seconds.

i captured this screenshot about one-hand operation will be used instead of navigation gestures. but when i go to settings -> advanced features -> one hand operated was not toggled on.

i would hate to factory reset the phone. so what are my options?????

in the meantime, i am doing a temporary backup in the event i need to restore after a factory reset.

after that, i will go to recovery mode to wipe cache partition to see if i can fix this refreshing home screen. will update this later

yes, i did a regular reboot a few times...no luck

I couldn't say. I'm not in the Beta, but I do have a S24U and haven't noticed that bug.

See if it goes away in Safe Mode: https://www.samsung.com/uk/support/mobile-devices/how-to-start-my-galaxy-device-in-safe-mode/. If it does, revert to normal mode and see if the problem stays away.

i will check in safe mode once my temporary backup is done in case i need to do a factory reset.

if the refreshing issue is NOT in safe mode, but it still happens back to normal mode. then what should i try next??

If it doesn't happen in Safe Mode, that would indicate a 3rd party app that's causing the issue. It can be tedious to narrow it down, though -- you can start by seeing which apps have permission to Display Over Other Apps (in the Settings>Apps>Special Apps Access menu).

wow, the DIY Home screen was toggled on for whatever reason, and i honestly did not do that because the re-freshing issue started when i power on the phone this morning.

I toggled off DIY Home Screen and it stops refreshing. just curious, what is the main reason for this feature?????

If it doesn't happen in Safe Mode, that would indicate a 3rd party app that's causing the issue. It can be tedious to narrow it down, though -- you can start by seeing which apps have permission to Display Over Other Apps (in the Settings>Apps>Special Apps Access menu).

you are correct. i did use the DIY Home screen to add stickers recently. it was working for at least a week until today my home screen starts refreshing every 5 seconds. hmm...this has to be a huge bug in the beta. i will report it accordingly

Anytime, just be careful when they say beta next to it , could cause glitches like you experienced.

i came across a posting in the Samsung Forum and someone has the same refreshing screen issue using DIY Home Screen with S25 Ultra.

so, this is definitely a bug in Home Up - DIY Home screen in case anyone else encounters this issue.
