Phone keeps saying emergency calls only

Hi i am having alcatel one touch idol mini 6012x when i put any sim card on it it shows emergency calls only but when i change network mode to gsm only or wcdma only sometimes the network comes in some carriers and in some it dont even come i have checked the imei it is same of the back side
I have tried to format it but still the same it is running on its stock rom 4.2

Is your sim card active? Have you tested it on a known working phone?

Is the phone SIM-locked to any particular carrier?

Hi thanks for replaying sim card are active i have tested them on different phones no the is not locked because when i shut it off or on it it shows mtn carrier logo but qhen i put mtn sim or any other sim in it it says emergency calls only but qhen i put vodacom carrier sim in it it sows emergency calls but sometimes when i change network to gsm only or wcdma only sometimes the network comes

Seems like you have isolated it to the phone hardware.

With the price of decent phones, it would probably be cheaper to buy a new one.

You can also go to system recovery> hard factory reset>reboot system . You will lose all data from reset ,but when I entered my GMail with Google everything was restored. You will have to re-install your other personal apps from before, which "might " also restore your previous data if backed up. Good Luck !!
