Phone keeps switching from wifi to LTE

I have a Redmi Note 7. Just updated to MIUI 12.5.1. Now when I'm connected to my home router the it keeps switching from wifi to LTE. If I connect to our extender it doesn't happen, if I connect to a mobile hotspot using a different phone it doesn't happen. Any suggestions?

Do you have the WiFi set to avoid poor connections? You mention an extender, so I'm assuming your WiFi doesn't cover your entire home without it? When you're at the boundary of your WiFi coverage the phone may be deciding that the connection is weak or poor and switching back to LTE as a result. Does it happen when closer to your router?

Just tried that. It's still doing it

Correct. The router is at the back of our house, the extender is at the front. However, I'm sitting right next to the router and it's still doing it.

Try rebooting your router , how old is it ? And which band it's connected 2.4ghz or 5.0ghz?

We got the router within the past 5 years. ATT model BGW210. I don't know the 2.4 or 5 answer. When I try to connect to it, it says 2.4G/5G

Well, rebooting the router seemed to work. Kinda associated it with the recent update, but guess not. Thanks for the help. You're a swell guy
