Phone lighting up when an alarm has been set previously

Hi, does anyone know why my phone lights up and stays lit at the time when I've previously had an alarm set? I either use the stock clock's alarm function or the Absolute Radio app when I'm away. But then the next day with no alarm set at all the phone will still light up.

Any ideas of how to stop it? Anyone else have the same problem?

Is the Daydream feature turned on? That should be in Settings>Display​.

Can you clarify some details--does it light up randomly, and then stay on? Or does it light up with a notification, then stay on? Does this only happen when plugged in?

Lights up, no notifications and stays lit. Plugged in or not, doesn't matter. Don't worry too much now, I'm going to upgrade at the weekend!
