Having trouble with my verizon htc m8 I believe it started happening after my update afew weeks ago.... Trying to simply put music and other files onto my phone but Windows isn't recognizing it totally clue less on whats going on.. Just did the HTC sync manager update hoping that would fix it but nothing.. Here's some SSuploadfromtaptalk1441407180316.jpguploadfromtaptalk1441407190115.jpguploadfromtaptalk1441407270228.jpg

When I try and click in media device MTP option on my phone it doesn't open up anything or do anything which is odd cause I remember I had other options that I could choose from... Maybe my phones driver or something got messed up somehow idk.. Any help would be appreciated

Think I found the problem.. Recently had some bad malware/trojans maybe that's what messed it up

Bring it to your carrier. They put the update on it, so it's their liability to fix what they broke. (If they mention "warranty", stop them and tell them that it's a liability issue, not a warranty issue - if they stepped on your phone and broke it, they'd have to fix it. If they forced a firmware change to it and broke it, the law is the same - they have to fix it. Since you have no choice - even if you say "no" to an update, eventually the phone will update anyway - it's their problem.)

(This isn't theoretical - I've had out of warranty phones replaced for just this reason.)

Edit:

I started writing my post before you made your last one. Try it in another computer - you shouldn't need a driver to see an MTP or PTP device.

Have you tried tapping on the USB Connected tab and choosing Disk Drive? Also have you enabled USB debugging in Developer Options?

Shouldn't need a driver? So if I just plugged my phone into a different computer It wouldn't ask to install driver to see device? Pretty sure it would correct me if I'm wrong tho... I uninstalled the driver and went and Dled the new one.. For some reason I click on the driver install file and it does nothing.. Doesn't open up for me to install.. Weird man.. Wtf
