Phone not capitalizing the first letter of every sentence?

It's a minor problem, but it's really annoying me. The first letter of each sentence won't capitalize automatically, I even went to the settings to try and fix it, but it won't work. I have a galaxy s7 by the way, so I have the option to choose if I want it to capitalize, which I do, but the ON button does nothing.

Do you tap spacebar at end of the sentence? Otherwise the phone thinks you're typing an email address maybe?

Yup. Doesn't work.
