Phone not detecting Chromecast

Hi.

My partner and I have a Moto G4. We are connected to the same network.

The Chromecast is connected to the same router.

I have trouble detecting and connecting to the Chromecast, but my partner has no problem.

I have rebooted the Chromecast and router on numerous occasions.

I have cleared the cache of the apps that communicate with the Chromecast like Netflix, YouTube etc. I've also cleared the cache of Google home app.
I've also factory reset the Chromecast.

Any ideas?

I have 2 samsung phones, a s20 and a s8. I can reconnect the s20 to chromecast by reboot of chromecast and google home and watch a show but after the show ends and I stop casting I cannot reconnect. The S8 has no problems I can get chromecast icon on s8, but s20 will not show it unless I reboot etc.

Welcome to the forums. In many cases this issue is caused by the WiFi connection. Switching WiFi off and back on in your phone or restarting the router could fix the problem.
